Born in Ankara in 1977, Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir completed her primary, secondary, and high school education in Ankara.
She entered Hacettepe University English Medical Faculty with honors. After graduating from the Medical Faculty in 2001, she completed her specialization training at Ankara Training and Research Hospital Eye Clinic between 2001 and 2004.
Following her specialization training, she served as an Ophthalmologist at Ankara Gazi Mustafa Kemal State Hospital and Bolu İzzet Baysal State Hospital. In February 2011, she started working as an assistant professor at Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine. In 2013, she participated in oculoplastic and surgical practices at the University of California San Francisco under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Robert Kersten. During her time at the university, Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir conducted scientific research and published papers.
In April 2014, Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir successfully passed the examination and obtained the title of Associate Professor. In August 2020, she earned the title of Professor.
In 2022, she opened her private clinic in Konya and continues to provide services to patients from the region, as well as domestic and foreign patients, including numerous expatriates and foreigners.

Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir has published nearly 40 scientific studies in international journals and around 35 in national journals. She has presented over 50 papers and posters at international scientific conferences and over 50 at national conferences.
She is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmology Association, Turkish Republics Ophthalmology Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. She actively serves as a member of the Cataract and Refraction Unit, Oculoplastic Surgery Unit, and Ocular Oncology Unit at the Turkish Ophthalmology Association.
After serving as the Financial Secretary and General Secretary at the Turkish Ophthalmology Association Konya Antalya Branch, Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir has been continuing her role as the president of the association since November 27, 2022.
Prof. Dr. Bengü Ekinci Köktekir is proficient in English and has intermediate knowledge of French and German. She has been married for 18 years and is a mother of two children.
